Re: Show Off Time
Congrats on the upcoming addition to the family! You all look great!
I do have one question -- you write:
The plaid sports one of Kathy Lare's plaid extensions.
I am not familiar with what a "plaid extension" is (but I keep thinking of hair extensions for some reason). Do you mind explaining a bit?

Not at all, though Kathy could explain it much better. It is a piece of tartan that is fringed and folded and then either pinned or sewn to the corner of the plaid that would ordinarily pass under the epaulette. It is sewn if the wearer wants to don it every time, pinned if it will be taken on and off from occasion to occasion. When the plaid is donned, the plaid brooch is pinned through the extension rather than the corner of the plaid.
It ornaments the plaid rather nicely and extends its length a bit. A picture of an unattached extension appears below. You can see my son's on his plaid (directly under the brooch).

I like them a lot, so I have one on each of my Kathy-Lare plaids. Hope that helps.

I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.
