I was really surprised by my wifes responses to that questionare. I knew she didn't mind, but that she prefers me in kilts surprised me. Needless to say, I'll accomodate her as much as possible

My wifes reply, room for improvement here, I have some work to do

1. When I'm with my husband/boyfriend while he wears a kilt in public,
b. I feel slightly embarrassed.

2. I believe that it's appropriate for men to wear kilts in public,
c. when ever they feel like it.

3. The modern style of plain fabric kilts are just as attractive as traditional tartan kilts. Yes. / No.

4. I worry sometimes what family and friends think about my husband/boyfriend wearing a kilt. Yes.

5. I would be happier if my husband/boyfriend wore a kilt,
b. less often.

6. I believe that it is important to have a scottish connection for a man to wear a kilt. Yes. / No.

7. I think that men look "sexy" in a kilt. Yes. / No.

8. In the modern world, a kilt,
a. should be worn by men only.

9. When my husband/boyfriend bought his first kilt,
c. I thought it was ok... just his way of getting attention.

10. I would be just as happy if my husband stuck to trousers. Yes.

Let me say Blu that this post is a good and creative idea, I appreciate it, even if i didn't get the response I'd hoped for. Well done

Well Graham, it looks like she's a bit more of a conventional lady. Fortunately for you she accepts your kilts because it makes you happy. My suggestion is keep on as is as long as she doesn't object.
I was surprised by my wifes responses. I found out she likes the kilts better than trousers and she is aware that the ladies find it attractive generally. It makes her proud to be with me. All this time I figured it was amused tolerance She did skip the sexy question though. All I got from her on that one was a little smile

I guess the one that dissappointed most was about looking sexy in a kilt.
Well I think I look sexy in a kilt and other women think so too, but there's only one woman i want to think I'm sexy, hang on, let me down another wee dram, as I was saying, it's a shame but i could see it as a challenge and say to myself "I need to try harder", but on the other hand my wife has been willing to join me in Scottish events, ceilidhs, dancing, and - it must be said - she has been willing to accompany me every time I've been out in a kilt, which these days is 80% of the time, so I can't complain - even if some of the lads here have perfect wives :x who think they are just like Sean Connery in a kilt , anyway, I'd better stop ranting before the grammar police get me for writing too long a sentence.

Of course I blame Blu for all this, if it wasn't for his constant attempts to plunge this board into deeper and more meaningful discussion about kilts I would still be sitting at home in blissful ignorance of how my wife feels about kilts.

Graham, I've been known to console my kilt wearin' sorrows with a wee dram (or two or three or...), sometimes on a regular basis, but that's another post. I, too, was surprised with some of the responses my wife made to the questions, but I went in knowing that she objects to my kilt wearing. However, I believe that it is better to live with the truth, my eyes wide open, rather than wander around under deception like a blind man pretending he can see. Keep up the faith!

Graham,

I understand how you feel. I only get to wear my
kilt a few times a month. To find out my wife thinks
I should only wear it to Scottish activities and that I wear it
enough bothers me. I have decided to pick my battles, to
try to gain ground where I can. Cause if my wife isn’t Happy
then NO ONE will be Happy at our home.
