Mine are always shaky.
Thanks! It's MacLeod of the Isles, double box pleated, made by Hothir Ethelnor on the boar here. And yes, my dad did indeed film that. He's had a lot of practice!

Wow! You had a long ride home from the hospital, after you were born, though you probably don't remember much about it.
My grandma came for my birth. She never quite forgave my parents for that!

Do you have a picture of your Chama tartan design? I would like to see it sometime.

Yep! We had a lovely arctic cold front blow through. It got down to -7 last night! I take a three mile hike around Sloan's Lake every morning- every morning, rain, shine or snow. The 3 other people I ran across this morning thought I was totally insane for being out there in a kilt. Couldn't quite make them understand just how warm they are. I was wearing the same one as in that video.
Oh yeah, my dad has an image of my tartan. I'll see if he'll email it to me.

I do now!

Some day, I'll get it woven!

Hope so, Hawk.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Nice design. It's at once bold with the yellow and black "background" and subdued with the green, red, and gray "inside" the black.
My first impression was a resemblance to the colors of the high plains around Taos and Antonito, though not so much Chama with its wooded expanses.
Can you get it woven in the U.S. or do you have to send it to Britain? Do you have to register it first, or are there weavers who will weave to customer-supplied threadcounts?
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.
