[Woodsheal]

I'm a Herman Melville fanatic, especially Moby-Dick. This is my left calf, with the White Whale on the outer side, Captain Ahab on the inner, and filled in with South Seas tribal stuff. The whole thing was done over a two year span. I started with the whale, and kept adding to it!

The illustrations are fromthe famous 1930s set by Rockwell Kent. The quote is "God hunt us all, if we do not hunt Moby Dick to his death!" - chapt. xxxvi

While I doubt that I would ever submit myself to a tattoo needle, I must admit that this artwork is pretty impressive.
My daughter and son-in-law both have quite extensive tattoo work, but it’s just not my scene.
