Re: Cthulhu Kilts
So I'm guessing no one has a kilt in this yet, eh?
Which one of us will be the first to wear Evil, in kilt form?
Only time will tell...

Re: Cthulhu Kilts
I inadvertanly posted this in another thread, but perhaps it might be better here.
I know Matt has posted some wide pleat options, I am making a 8 yard traditional knife pleat , and I've pinned some further tests showing a narrower pleat.
The wide green line isn't really wide enough to have it as a complete pleat, except if there were rather a lot of very narrow pleats, but I suppose that is still an option!
The triple purple works best I think if the pleat become centred, as the complete arrange is a little too wide to make a good number of knife pleats.
The half and half manages to maintain most of the colours in a balanced form.
Of course the final decision is down to my client, but it's always interesting to see the various options!

Re: Cthulhu Kilts
Speaking as someone with no horse in this race, I've got to say that I believe the "purple line" to, by far, be the best option...with dark block coming in second.

I like the purple line. Does it allow sufficiently deep enough pleats?

Re: Cthulhu Kilts
Well my fabric is heading out to Barb today. Been going back and forth with Barb via email getting the measurements right. Been learning from previous mistakes to make sure she gets the right ones.

Re: Cthulhu Kilts
It seems that at least half the pleats on mine are sewn in. Mr. Newsome can crank these things out pretty fast too, when you consider what all goes into crafting a fine kilt. Shouldn't be long, now.
I think this tartan deserves it's own thread in the pictures section, for when the kilts are actually finished and being worn.
EDIT: I just realized that I might have a fighting chance of getting this kilt in time for the Solstice; 5:30 am on the 22nd, baby.
