I prefer the ones RAF posted, but all I can find online are purple, and I don't really have a need for Barney shoes.

But I wouldn't want socks knit from this yarn anywhere near my feet! It's so rough and coarse -- makes for a perfect hard wearing jacket, but not socks, I'm afraid!
I think you may be right! I like the looks of those hose, but I could imagine that they would be pretty uncomfortable to wear if they have the same feel as the usual Harris Tweed I'm used to. They might work well with thin sock liners, though. But for over $50 per pair delivered to the US, I think I'll let someone else be the Guinea pig.

Re: For the love of TWEED!!!!
I wonder if such a huge order from a giant company like Nike might effect the availability and/or cost of Harris tweed for us little folks.

They were a limited run, they made them years ago and I don't think they make them anymore.
I wouldn't mind a pair, I like basketball shoes and the tweed would be nice in wet/cold weather.

eBay folks.
I know some company's in china have some of the non-perfect ones left over.
They are super hard to find and thanks to the seller posting these shoes as "haris twead kicks" I got them for a nice low price. Apparently no one found the listing due to his title.
Love 'em or hate 'em. I am smitten.

I know, I don't care for that color either. The pic I posted I just plucked from a google search. Seems like the "blueprint" color didn't sell so well. The olive color would be a great find, but it doesn't appear that any are out there.
