    Buying advice

I need to buy a tweed argyll/braemar jacket and waistcoat (vest) combo and a tartan waistcoat (vest). Not necessarily from the same vendor.

Any vendors that you know or have purchased from who give good service/quality/price?

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Buying advice

I would recommend Geoffrey (Tailor) in Edinburgh. I have one of their kilts and two of their jackets and am more than pleased with the standard of manufacture of each of them.

    Regards

Bonnie Heather did a great job on my bias cut tartan waistcoat

She allowed for removable buttons too

That having been said, since it looks like you're in France, it might be worth trying lady chrystal

Got my jackets direct from Locharron, made-to-measure. Ordered through my kiltmaker, most pleased.

    Thanks, Chas.

I already knew of GT, I have a kilt and a black barathea braemar jacket and waistcoat from them. Excellent kit and easy to work with but a bit pricey and a long wait.

    They're a definate maybe.

    Thanks to you also, madmacs.

Did Bonnie get the tartan for you, also? How was the price and how long did you wait?

Yes, I am in France. I would like to avoid asking Crystel. I was disappointed with my kilt from her.

Thanks for your reply, Cable Scot.

Scotweb are a possibility. A bit of a wait though.

    Highland Clans are too pricey.

Yep she did everything... We looked at multiple mills due to locharron being out of stock, but I ended up picking what I knew... If you're considering a kilt and waistcoat I'd try and get the fabric for both at the same time even if you dont get the both made at the same time...
