    A few "sneak preview" pics of the first kilt completed in this tartan. As you can see from the above "in progress" photos, the recipient chose to have it pleated to the "mystery tartan." I can honestly say that the most difficult aspect of making this kilt was pressing it. It was nigh impossible to distinguish between the wide dark stripe and the only-slightly-less-dark green background when I had the kilt laid out on my ironing board -- even with it being under a strong craft light!

    The only saving grace is my knowledge that if it was that hard for me to see when I was pressing the kilt, it should also be hard to see any mistake I may have made! :-)

    This is a six-yard box pleated kilt. Without further delay....

    I think you've just made my decision on how I'm going to pleat mine, when I get to making it.... (got the practice one to get out of the way, first)
