I always wanted a parrot, but my wife says "no." She says it's because they're messy and loud...yet we have children. Go figure.

Whidbey they sure can be loud, but not really that messy, if you dont mind finding feathers and the occasional bird dropping on your couch. i would say kids are way louder and messier, although the life expectancy is similar on both parrots and children, lol
