You could rock both the camo and the tartan Age is just a number. You are young at heart.

and I know that I am way late on this response...just read the first post though. I will catch up tomorrow. My bed and my Harry Potter movie are beckoning to me ;)

					Alan,
I was at a Buddhist temple that had a path set up for walking meditations. I had my 20 year old beagle with me. I was standing there enjoying the day and my dog was doing what hounds do. He was howling, rolling in smelly things, sniffing about and having a generally splendid time.

I was standing next to a monk and I gave him a 'please forgive my dog' look. He said "No worries. He's just enjoying his Buddha Nature...much like you".

I was wearing a utilikilt, work boots, hunting socks and a hoodie. I'm 46 years old.

When I look back at how I dressed through the years, (I’m 53 now) I find that the times when I thought I was stylish and impressing the ladies were the times when I looked the silliest.I wore platform shoes or clogs, hip hugger jeans with a wide white belt, bell sleeve paisley shirts in the 70’s
I wore a leisure suit for my high school class picture.
 I thought I was a cowboy in the 80’s.
I have since learned the ‘classic’ way of dressing.
I wear Carhart jeans and Timberland work boots at work. (classic styles that haven’t changed in ages)
Outside of work: chinos, oxford shirts, tweed jacket, cardigans. (classic styles that haven’t changed in ages)
 MacLachlan Tartan kilt.
I don’t look at “old” men in Utilikilts and think they should act their age, but I feel I’m too old to wear one. I actually don’t like them but that’s another conversation altogether.
I think guys over 25 who wear oversized-straight billed baseball caps and low slung jeans are dressing too young but again it’s a look I don’t like no matter how young or old the wearer is.
But the Utilikilt is not an age thing with me. It looks the same to me on the young and old.

Anybody who lives with beagles is alright in my book. Let them be beagles and they'll teach you how to be yourself...plus, they can always find an adventure to lead you on. That's what they're for.

An old pic I found this morning while organizing files on my home server--circa 2006-ish.

Slightly off topic, but what the heck.

I read somewhere that you set your mode of dress in high school and stick to that basic look all your life. hence, I got the ivy-league-hippy-semi-cowboy thang from the late 60's/early 70's goin' for me....which is nice.

True. The fact that I'm of a similar age, and wore the same thing only makes it funnier. auld argonian's Carl the Groundskeeper imitation gave me a chuckle too..........
