Montrose Doublet
I have acquired my Prince Charlie evening jacket and waistcoat only fairly recently. Prior to that, for many years, I favoured the Montrose Doublet for 'black tie' events, and for formal Dances and Highland Balls. With all that lace, they really are something else and make the wearer feel very special - the Prince Charlie seems very 'ordinary' by comparison!
If this photo works (all that I post in this forum seem to disappear within a few hours!!), it shows me wearing my Montrose Doublet for a display of Scottish Country Dancing in London's Royal Albert Hall in 1969:
