Re: Poll: How often do you see kilts worn?
I would say 0-5 times but thanks to SteveB we got a friend of mine into a kilt and I see him several times a year so I have to say 5-10 times a year. It is always a nice thing to see. Slowly but surely we can enlighten the world.

Re: Poll: How often do you see kilts worn?
Other than myself at church on Sundays and one other member of my congregation who wears his Saffron kilt on special holidays like Memorial Day, Easter and Veterans' Day I think I'm the only kilt wearer in my area.

Re: Poll: How often do you see kilts worn?
I'm assuming the question concerns seeing random people wearing a kilt so I'd say less than 5 on average but certainly less than 10.
Of course, this excludes Scottish related events (Highland Games, Burns Night, RSCDS, the Alexandria Christmas Walk, etc), XMTS Kilt Nights, living history programs that I participate in, etc. Consequently, I'd say perhaps less than 5 on average, but certainly no more than 10.

Not often. A couple at a formal reception for the opera company for which I work (I also went kilted) and a couple of time hiking (although more often it's me and my sons against the panted community). At best I'd say 10 times this year.

I'd have to go with option # 1 five times a year or less

Re: Poll: How often do you see kilts worn?
I'm going to push a bit: I've worked in Gettysburg town for seven years at two jobs: Weis (grocery store) and the current V.C. I've noted only two occassions of Kilt wearers, but mind you I don't tend to get out much. Both times were in the Gift shop sales floor: one guy was dressed in fine casual attire (I wouldn't be surprised if it was Mr. Newsome) and the other was in leather with a utilikilt/amerikilt on. Other Kilties might have been around, but I work downstairs so I wouldn't notice.

Just Looking in the mirror 200 times a year but if you excluded SCD then perhaps 150.

I'd say 10-20 for me, excluding Scots-themed events. I attend several music festivals (folk, jazz, and misc) and pub music sessions so kilts are a bit more commonly seen. As others have said, the modern and utility kilts seem to outnumber the traditional, perhaps 5 to 4. Regardless of style, in my experience the kilted ones wear them well and proudly.
