Re: Clergy Kilt?
Treading carefully is always good.
Defining what qualifies as clergy cannot be reserved to one religion and its variations without contravening Rule #5.
Other religions also have a definition of what they consider to be an ordained ministry or priesthood. If someone qualifies within that definition it is not for us to deny it in these forums, but rather that is to be respected.

Mike, that's the same Angus Buchan that the movie Faith Like Potatoes is based upon, isn't it? The family & I love that film!

. . .
There are music ministers, youth ministers, ministers of defense, and lots of other "ministers" (just to be symantic and a bit didactic), but none of them are ordained clergy! If the difference is an anyway important, and if the wearing of a particular tartan because of its significance is important, then steer clear of the Clergy tartan.
There are a number of very nice tartans with some significance to which you feel entitled available, so why not go with one of them?
As to the Christian tartan, it's fine, but in the end it all rests on finance! Will it either sell enough to pay, or will there be enough people to pay for a special run?
How non-spiritual! (Note the affected, tongue-in-cheek manner of delivery, an attempt at snooty-emulation humor.)
Personally, I never care what tartan anyone chooses to wear or why. It's just wool cloth that most people can't recognize in the end.

Re: Clergy Kilt?
In response to McClef, I should point out that I have specifically avoided a theological debate (Christian or otherwise), since this is inappropriate at X Marks.
I fail to see how pointing out historical precedents counts as discrimination.
If anyone wishes to discuss either points of Christian theology or non-Judeo-Christian beliefs (which I have studied in some detail), they are welcome to PM me.

Mike
