Chariots of Fire ~ Running in the Glens
So tonight my wife wanted to watch 1981's Chariots of Fire (though we own it on dvd, she had never watched it all the way through), and I had nearly forgotten that early on in the film there is a nice little sequence that introduces Scottish rugby player turned runner Eric Liddell at a 1920s Scottish Highland Games setting. In this sequence we get to see a fair number of kilts worn. So I thought I'd go searching for it on youtube to share. Unfortunately all I could find is this shortened sequence of the race itself; however, if you look close you will see a few kilts being worn throughout
(note: the embedding is disabled, so you will have to follow the link to youtube. Sorry)

Great film. I can remember it being made as the Highland Games scene was filmed 'just up the road' in the Sma Glen which is about 10 miles north of Crieff and the place incidently where the clans gathered before the march to Sheriffmuir.
