    New 2012 models

Has anyone gotten one of the new 2012 models? If so, can you tell me the differences, and give me a review?

I have one (Black Stewart). They have A shaping for the front apron and cutouts in the pleats at the waist for a slimmer better fit. I'd have to check if there are any more structrual improvements over the old one. The colors of the wool Black Stewart are more subtle than the old acrylic one I had. I am really happy with mine (then again I'm a dedicated Stillwater Kilts fan, Jerry has never let me down)

Here's a picture of mine with the love of my life.

Thumbs up Re: New 2012 models

Like the sound of those upgrades, the bulky waistband was my only beef with SWK.

Jamie, I know you're somewhere in this picture, but for the life of me, I can't seem to notice anything beyond the Flame Haired Celtic Goddess!

Between the goddess and that sporran, it took me a minute to spot you, as well! Thanks for the info, Jaime.

You two make a lovely, and handsome, couple. Happy New Year!
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

    Re: New 2012 models

Just got a Saffron HW in the 2012 edition. I need to go about one button hole looser on the straps than I have it in the pictures, but it is fine. For those of you that have complained about the pillow effect of the pleat material not being cut out in back, that is gone. I have several old style SWK HW kilts and while it didn't bother me as much as some, it was there. Not so on the new one. BTW, another thread talks about the Saffron heavy being stiff. This doesn't seem to be.

Does anyone know if this applies just to the HW models or across the line? (I'm thinking of the Standard models, especially.)

As far as I know the Stillwater heavyweight wool kilts are the only ones with these upgrades.
