I was starting to think the same thing!
6'1", 220lbs, 40" waist, 43" seat.
Most folks are surprised to hear how much I weigh. I just tell 'em most of it is the rocks in my head and the lead in my ****.

Thankfully kilts are somewhat adjustible, so over Xmas I can loosen it out...
I don't even trust the number on trousers. I just measured my waist the other day, and it was 38. My size 36 trousers MUST have a belt to stay up, it's the 34s that fit right. And a belt is almost not enough on the 38s (I'm working loosing weight, and my size tends to fluctuate anyway)

Most American sizing is "vanity sized". Meaning 2 to 3 inches marked smaller than actual. It is not always consistent even within the same retailer or between product lines.
I'd venture that if you bought size 38's of the same trouser brand, you would think you lost 30 plus pounds.

6'3", 190lb, 33" waist. Then again, I'm only 20. Hopefully my active job can keep the size consistent for the years to come!

Ahhh, I remember those days. One could eat what one wanted in whatever quantities desired, drink in similar or greater porportions (drinking age was 18 in my day), and be guaranteed to burn it all off with the next day's activities. My days of 30" waist jeans are long gone. I envy you yours. Enjoy them to the fullest, and endeavour to make them last as long as possible, preferably well into late adulthood.

I was more of complaining that pants lie than anything. I would likely be a much healthier weight if they didn't lie because the big turning point for me in watching my weight was when the 38s were getting snug, and needing to go to 40s.

Re: What is our average size?
Does anyone else find a mob of grown men discussing their weight, waist and butt sizes just a bit odd?
