Yes, it is scary. Through work, I have always been very aware of cyber security, but recently, it hit home that many people simply do not get it. Last week I was trying to expand my family tree following the line of my great grandmother's brother. I've never met any of his descendants, but I found names, addresses, telephone numbers, photographs (including children) of people who are no closer to me than 3rd cousins, 3 to 5 times removed. Having been the target of identity theft off and on for about 15 years, I am very concerned about what personal information can be found with little effort. There isn't much you can do about public record information about you, but I certainly would not post photographs of children on the internet on unsecured sites.

Hate to say this... Its only going to get worse...
For some reason xmarks ends up very high on google's search engine...
