Driving back home from the University having just dropped off my son for a chess competition.
It's a beautiful section of coastline from Sunderland to South Tyneside where I live. As I drove passed the Marriott hotel I saw a couple leaving the car park and heading for the beach.
The guy was kilted - a rare sight in Sunderland - not sure of the tartan, but muted earthy colours, maroon hose and a cream fleece!
Had to get a better look. Parked the car and 'stalked' the couple. Didn't get close enough to speak to them but from the womans accent I would say they were from across the pond.
A happy sight. And no one seemed to be taking a blind bit of notice. Except me that is!!!

How about some sort of "Xmarksthescot" certificate of merit to be awarded to unsuspecting folks like that who selflessly take the effort to wear their kilts in public. Something credit card size would be good I should think. A little pat on the back from a kilted brother.
