    Do you feel safe?

This is not directed to the mods or forum owner but to the members of XMTS.

This forum is supposed to be "a place where our members can enjoy the company of all other fellow kilt wearers. We also wish to provide a place where those who choose to wear the kilt can find information, guidance, advice, and share experiences with others."

We would like to come here to do what is stated above. We want a safe place that we can come to be with others who love kilts. We want to share our new items and to form our own personal styles of kilt wear.

We kilt up and walk out into this world and catch odd looks and wide eyed children. We are not fully accepted by most of the people who see us. It's was nice to come here and feel like we were home. We could wear a kilt and everyone would say "" or give style tips.

    Do you feel safe?

Neither do I. Not any more.

Let's reclaim our nice calm forum of Kilted style and acceptance.

    Cheers!

I feel just fine here... But then again, I've never been one who needed the approval of others, so I don't know that I count.

This is actually the friendliest forum ive ever been on. I think its cause its 90% full of guys. Go to a forum full of women and THEN tell me if you feel safe! Women are feisty creatures who tear forum newbs to shreads.

Ugh I HATED being that age. Actually, I hated middle school. Around 9th grade, I stopped caring and thats when I made my real friends. lol.

Its seriously amazing how the atmosphere here in this forum is sooo different than in forums where the majority of the members are female. I joined a craft forum for candle makers and stuff and I introduced myself, gave a nice little "nice to meet everyone!" and then asked a few questions about candle making and not a single person welcomed me. All they said was what I was doing wrong with my candle making, half of it in all caps.

I was a very annoyed little candle maker!

Weight your wicks and melt your wax in a double boiler.
    How's that for a welcome?

That may be, but THIS mod is very confused what you are talking about here.

The purpose of the "Comments and Suggestions" forum is as printed above:

Comments and Suggestions: Let me know what you think or what you think would make this site better.
Broadly speaking, there are many things that would classify as being suggestions, but I'm rather confused here. Actually, I'm doubly confused.

If your post was meant to simply be a comment, then can you please give a bit more information as to why you might not feel "safe."

If you post was meant to be a suggestion, then it would be most helpful to know what the forum staff could actually do to improve. You've quoted the Mission Statement of XMTS, so I get the impression that somehow you feel that the forum is falling short of its goals. That being the case, it doesn't benefit us to simply bemoan that sentiment without having some actionable objectives for the future. If this is indeed what you are driving at, then what, if anything, can the XMTS staff do to ameliorate the situation?

If this is a comment or a suggestion for a membership at large (i.e. the rabble) then I suspect that this thread may be better suited in the Miscellaneous area, because threads that are posted HERE are generally looked at by the staff in terms of what WE can do to change or improve the forum.

NO! I want "nice to meet you/Glad to have you here, etc. etc." and THEN proceed to tell me the info! Theres a certain etiquette, people! They jumped right into the "dont do this and dont do this and you are donig this wrong and blah blah blah"

(and I will have all of them know that my candles are awesome! And YES, I DO use crayons for color! *hands on hips*)

You fear the folks on here? Or, out in the real world?
    Somebody ought to.
