    new PV kilt

I will be ordering my first PV kilt soon. I know that with my wool kilt all I have to do is hang it up overnight and any minor wrinkles caused by sitting will fall out. Does the same hold true with the PV material? If not, what is the best way you have found to correct the problem? I plan for this (celtic nations) PV kilt to be my "every day" kilt, although I will probably not be wearing it every day.

I lay mine flat over night and just make sure the pleats are straight. Then, I return it to its hanger.

I've had no problems with my PVs wrinkling. Worst case scenario, just hang in a steamy bathroom and everything is hunky-dory in a short while.

    Re: new PV kilt

I've owned 26 PV kilts from USA Kilts (Can't speak to other PV kiltmakers way of sewing) and yeah, PV will wrinkle like any other fabric you sit on. Steaming in the bathroom works. Without steaming they do hang out but not overnight - unless you're in a humid climate.

My favorite is to use a hand steamer. A quick pass and the wrinkles just drop out.

I used the cheapo steamers from the big box stores but kept having to buy new ones after they died. Finally swiched to Jiffy Steamers ESteam hand steamer. Its a quality steamer that's still going strong after many years.

I often can wear and hang out a PV kilt without having to steam any wrinkles. Just depends on if I've been sitting long in it or not.

This is what I do with my USA Kilts. The PV material doesn't seem that prone to wrinkling anyway.

    Cheers

I drive up to Scotland every year (5 - 6 hours). I wear my PV just for that reason.

    Regards
