Vest conversion?

Through a great (?) Stroke of luck I have come into posession of a royal blue PC. Brand new....now a wee catch.. it was ordered with a matching argyle waistcoat!
My question is, can you convert an argyle waistcoat to a PC waistcoat?

(I'm still channeling my inner peacock trying to get my head around the whole royal blue thing)

This will be worn with a Strachan tartan kilt (ordered from Dalgliesh this past week through the Celtic Croft)
