    A little wee kilt

I was asked to do a rush job on a little wee kilt for a wedding. The tartan requested was a Haliburton. The Haliburton is a special weave and I did not have time nor the budget to have material woven for a wee kilt (8 yards min). I did find some light weight material in Canada and ordered enough for a wee kilt.

The material arrived 3 days before the wee one was supposed to take off in a flight to the wedding.

Needless to say, the kilt made the flight and the wedding was a success.
So here is the wee kilt and a postcard!

And a picture of the wee one in a "Tux"

I did not instruct them that the pleaty things go in the back.

BUT... a wee one kilted is ... priceless

    Enjoy,

This post made me doubly smile, first for the happy and handsom little fellow and secondly for the Highlands of Haliburton in Ontario where I grew up and have many happy memories.

That's surely a picture to go in a frame on your sewing table, eh, Professor?

    Re: A little wee kilt

The light weight material was probably perfect for a child's kilt, especially this size. I've made kilts from 13 oz for some of my wee lads, and even that sometimes feels too heavy for them. 10 or 11 oz works perfectly for this age group, I think. God job!
