Re: Who's goin to Scotland this year?
Was there this last August. The bakery in St. Andrews, too. Lots of sweets and savories. Would love to go back--maybe when I can get two children out of college. To tour on a motorcycle--that would be great!

Well, the only pond I'll be crossing will be the channel but I don't know yet whether I'l be going over it or under it. I'm going to be in Dumfries in March.

There's not much left of this year but if any of you are across here in 2012 and can make it to the Southern Uplands I'll be happy to say hello and maybe we can organise a kilt night.
I'm planning on going to Canada for the Victoria Games on 19/20 May but should be here in Scotland for the rest of the year.

My wife and I are planning a trip over at the end of May (for the Scottish Tartans Authority's AGM), and will likely stay for a week plus after that. Have not yet hammered out the details.

We'll be going in August for our honeymoon. Still figuring out details, though.

My wife and I will be in Badenoch for the Clan Macpherson annual gathering and rally in August, and to visit some of my family in Kingussie. We are planning to visit Argyll and Bute, Perthshire, and Edinburgh towards the end of our trip. We'll be there for a few weeks.

I'll be taking the family up the Newton Stewart, D&G, for a week in August to do some fishing, show them some of our cultural history, relax and maybe, just maybe, partake of the odd wee dram...
Our eldest isn't too excited - already making 'to pack' list, reminding me constantly to make sure we pack our kilts, working out our itinerary...

Planning to go the first of June to Scotland and Ireland (2 weeks) as a graduation gift for the twins. One (daughter) is graduating from the US Naval Academy, the other twin (her brother) is graduating from Virginia Military Institute.

Hoping to head to Seil in the next few months and want to go to Islay at some point in the year (I've heard lots of exciting things about the Bruichladdich Distillery and want to visit - I might as well pop to the other distilleries while I'm there: it would be rude not to!)
Some friends have mentioned a trip North Uist to visit some friends so hopefully that will come off too.

As a former active-duty U.S. Marine NCO, congrats to your twins! What an accomplishment! You must be a very proud father.
Have a great time in green Alba...
