Re: New Member from California (and Largs, Ayrshire)
Welcome from another California Transplant! (In my case, transplanted from West Virginia)
I'm in Sunny Southern California but I and so many others make the trip to NorCal for the Pleasanton Highland Games. See you there??

Pleasanton. Sure. We usually go. If you're coming, please let me know and we can have a "wee blether".

Robin,
Normally all the XMTS members meet up at the Clan MacNaughton tent on both Sunday and Saturday around 12:00

Oh, that's good to know. Right. We'll come this year (we were in OK last year at the Labor Day weekend).
Now ............ any idea about where I can find a kilt maker? I'd like a new kilt in the "X" tartan. I can buy the cloth from Steve (the Forum owner) - however I need to find somebody to make it for me.

Greetings Robin,
Glad you had a good time at the Burns Supper! There are plenty of people on the forum who could make that kilt if you don't mind not being personally measured. Locally, not so much.
Best regards,
Jake

Sorry for the late reply to your inquiry Robin. In your area (Pleasanton actually) you can contact Donna Willy. She has made two kilts for me and does quite nice work. She is now a member here on Xmarks and can be reached via the Personal Message (PM) function. The other two I can recommend from personal experience are Kathy Lare and Bonnie Heather Greene (also a member here) Both of the last two ladies have web sites that can be easily found by a google search.
Best of luck, drop me a line if I can be of any further assistance.
