Re: In case you thought YOU were tough....

One of the guys that I practice Highland Games with here in Orange County was at Camp Pendelton Saturday for the comp - he won the old guys division I think...I've been considering doing a powerlifting comp. I think it would be fun...

Re: In case you thought YOU were tough....

I think I met him. There was a gentleman there who talked to me because I was wearing a Scottish shirt and he said it was his first powerlifting comp. I think he said we go to the same gym in long beach Metroflex. Although we only go on Saturdays as it is to far during the week. He said he'd be competing at the Queen Mary. We look forward to watching those. We have thought about trying scottish games but don't really have a place to throw and I'd have to really do some research so I could coach them safely. Also right now Cameron is on track to take all four national records in powerlifting and I need to keep that focus. He is only 10 pounds away on deadlift and 20 on benchpress. I assume you will be at queen mary so maybe we'll see you there.

    Alan,

Is she the one you introduced to us at Pleasanton last year? She really seemed awfully nice, though quite modest and quiet about how well she had done that day on the field.

As for blowing you out of the water in terms of lifting ability....

    GUID ON YA Kristy!

    YOU GO GIRL!!!!!

I tip my plumed hat to her

BTW - Alan... that backsquat with "what looks like 315" is actually using Ivanko powerlifting plates in KG. Those big red plates are 25kg each, so 55lbs each. 25kg x 6 + 20kg bar + Comp Collars @ 5kg each = 180kg, or around 400lbs.

Put that in yer pipe and smoke it.
Have fun and throw far. In that order, too. - o1d_dude
