Ben Silver or Brooks Brothers are where I have always purchased mine.

Re: Source for regimantal striped bow ties
I have received good products, price, and service from "The Tie Bar" here:
http://www.thetiebar.com/
They carry a really large selection of bow, and straight ties too.
Best of luck!

Wow, great prices on this site! Are the ties of good quality and durable? Just curious.
Thanks,

Re: Source for regimantal striped bow ties
Just read customer testimonials on The Tie Bar's website, and everything sounds pretty good to me. The website is awesome, I can't believe the prices! I may have to forget about Brooks Brothers and Ben Silver for a wee while when it comes to my neckwear...well, maybe. I may have to order a necktie from The Tie Bar and see how it works out, and if it passes my rigid inspection of quality.
Many thanks!

Giggity! I may have to join Kyle and give a few of these a test run. For those prices there's little to lose and LOTS to gain.

Thanks,
Well Kyle, I don't wear a tie often enough to wear them out (1or 2x per month) so I can't speak to long term durability, but the ones I have appear to be well made of nice material (silk) and their selection, as you see, is quite extensive. I haven't come up with a single reason to spend more!
Go for it!

There's also http://www.bowties.com/bowties.htm . They have regimental self-tie bowties in the "stripes" section, although the selection is fairly limited. And they're very pricy.

Re: Source for regimantal striped bow ties
I have a couple of ties from The Tie Bar and they vary. One I dislike because the twill of the tie is very large (nearly the equivalent of corduroy). For inexpensive striped ties I have found those at neckties.com to be of good quality. And for men of average height their boys ties would be perfect for the kilt.

I suppose the pure silk neckties would not have the twill showing? I know what you mean, and I don't care for that look. I like my silk ties to be as smooth as possible!
