Michael, thanks for that link. I must have missed it the first go 'round. The pictures are great! I'll be spending some time on that site.

No worries, I thought it had been posted, but I failed in my own search. I had found the posts about the man himself, but not a link to the website, perhaps because the previous link was direct to the gallery... Anyway, I don't think Kyle is offended, and hopefully neither is David. ;)

    Cheers,

    Michael

I (now) know it's been commented upon previously, but those vertical striped hose are indeed quite something!

I'm still waiting for some enterprising person to come up with a reasonable facsimilie of these particular hose. I love the black and grey, but grey and rifle/hunter green would be nice as well.

If only we could find an enterprising person.

In a previous thread, P/M Burgess's daughter (whose screen name i can;t remember) said that her mother, Mrs. Burgess, made the hose in the pictures.

I've got a trip to the yarn shop tomorrow. I'll see if they have any yarn in the aforementioned colors.

As I've pointed out before, those hose are in a pattern very similar to that of the regimental neckties of the Cameron Highlanders; too similar, in my opinion, to be coincidental.

(The green looks a bit too bluish in this particular photo.)
