OMG I have found it, the nectar of the gods!
Surely Drambuie must be the beverage of choice in Valhalla. How have I missed this one all these years.

It's a fabulous drink! I remember my parents even "kickin'" it up a notch by adding a shot of scotch. I think it is called a Rob Roy.

Aye, the first rusty nail is a fine one. My own research indicates it is the ninth one you need to beware of.

I agree on all counts about the Rob Roy and the Rusty Nail. I like Drambuie neat, too - sends the warmth all the way down to my toes (like cognac!).
A former Canadian officer (Black Watch of Canada (RHR)) once explained to my Highland living history group that new subaltern officers had to drink flaming Drambuie as their first drink in the Mess, knocking it back in such a way as to leave the flame in the glass. Don't try this at home. :-)

Yes, you may have found the nectar of the gods.
I don't do fru-fru drinks at all. (Well, there is that little beach bar on St. George Island where they make a dark rum pina collada for breakfaszt that'll make you sit up and take notice, but they don't do those little umbrellas or anything.) But a rusty nail is as close as I get, and it is really good!
The drambuie by itself is very good, too, especially as an after dinner drink or a little sip while sitting around in the evening. As said before, it's kind of like a good cognac, but with that little heavy sweetness added.
But a good peaty scotch alone is hard to ever beat. I was just sitting here sipping a Quarter Cask Laphroiag and wondering what all the little people were doing tonight. (I am, of course, one of the little people, but drinking that stuff will make you feel like somebody!) Throw in a little Drambuie, and you think you're a direct decendant of Bonnie Prince Charlie!
