Re: Fitness Challenge!
Just a quick check-in.
I'm within 30kg of cleaning my old personal best when I was huge-normous... except it's also a powerclean (less technical, but more difficult).
I've lost 30lbs since late November... I'm sure it would be 40 had I not had to deal with the Holidays.
I've been sick for about half a week so no activities to report, I did workout when sick on Saturday and missed a few lifts, felt like death warmed in a microwave come Sunday, and I will try not to be so Mongo-Stupid next time.
Have fun and throw far. In that order, too. - o1d_dude

Hope you're feeling better, my friend!

Re: Fitness Challenge!
Last night was Chest/Shoulders/Triceps/Abs. Pushed a little harder and even added a weighted vest to the issue for some of the pushups. Adding weight to the abs routine as well. Really sore and tired but feel great about the workout.
Hope all is well with your goals!

Re: Fitness Challenge!
Well, I was trying to lose weight when I first joined this forum, and I'm still working at it. I had managed to drop about twenty pounds by Thanksgiving, but the holidays really killed me and I wound up putting nearly fifteen back on. *sigh* I'm starting again with a vengeance though; I dearly want a proper wool kilt, but I refuse to buy one until I get to weight I want to be.

Re: Fitness Challenge!
Ok, I am in on the challenge. I have been training for the last four months for a 30km crosscountry ski race held near the end of Feb. The ultimate goal is the 90km Vasa Loppet race in Sweden next year.

Well, keep at it. I was in awesome shape last year and got horribly out of shape in Nov. and Dec. so I know how it can be. I am working with a Beach Body coach and doing P-90X right now. I dropped 11 lbs in a month! If you want info on getting started on that kind of program let me know. The coaching is free.

Very cool! I can't deadlift for power anymore after an "incident" involving trying for too much, too soon and royaly messing up my lower back.
Good on ya!

VERY cool. I can leg press on the machine about 375 (fifty lbs more than my bodyweight). I can't free weight more than about 300 in a deadlift tho.
