bbc radio scotland
I've been listening online to BBC Radio Scotland for the last week or so. I don't have any idea about most of the people and politics discussed; I just like the sound of the voices.
Anybody else tune in the Beeb just to hear somebody who sounds different from you?

I tend to listen to the local radio stations more, but the bbc for some good comedy (newsquiz, navy lark, steptoe and son) need to figure out getting to listen to deep trouble though...

I like to listen to their weekly show on piping, called Pipeline. It's about an hour long, broadcast every Saturday but available to listen to anytime until the next show.

I'm beginning to form a hypothesis: I listen for the accents, while the rest of you listen for the content. Funny world, ain't it?

Piperdbh how do you listen to it? Through your computer? I also enjoy listening to radio shows from elsewhere to listen to an interesting accent.

Re: bbc radio scotland
I used to love listening to my old local radio station (Northern sound) on a Sunday night. It aired old story telling and music, twas a lovely way to end the weekend. My new local radio station has a Celtic hour on Sunday morning , but it is on the same time as church .

I love the Beeb; particularly Radio 3 and Radio 4 but I listen for the content.
I had never thought that someone might listen for the accents but I suppose that I am used to hearing those. Thinking about it there is quite a wide variety of accents on it now whereas they all use to be RP. There is also quite a few Scots who don't sound Scottish!
