Sandy doesn't generally reveal his kiltmakers' identities, which I admit is a bit fishy-smelling. At least, when I was concerned (needlessly, as it turned out) that my pleating request might be problematic or strange, I asked him if he could pass my contact info. along. He never acknowledged that request, but that's entirely in keeping with what I was told to expect -- he's pretty incommunicado until he actually has something new or different to tell you.

Admittedly, I've never point-blank asked him who his kilt maker is. It wouldn't be necessarily anyone I'd ever heard of anyway. His reputation for providing top-shelf merchandise is pretty consistent, and that was good enough for me.

The fabric seems to be from Lochcarron -- at least the dyes and the texture are identical to a swatch I ordered independently from them, when I was deciding on my tartan. It is 16 oz. wool.
