its first walk-about
Took my new Celtic Nations kilt out for its first walk-about today. Sunny day and fairly warm temps. This tartan appears to be a grand hit with the locals here in San Francisco. In 3 hours time I had 7 people stop me to say what a great looking tartan and 4 of the 7 took pics. Including one man visiting SF from Fiji.
Admittedly I did spiff it up a bit. Wore white shirt, red tie, lovat blue Argyle jacket and lovat blue hose with red flashes. Black leather shoes, sporran, belt.
The colors in this tartan really standout beautifully in the bright sun. Rocky did a great job designing this particular tartan, no doubt about it. And Mac did a great job making it.
Of course, it would be nice if this were the end of it but no such luck. I have 3 more tartans on my "futures" list. Nova Scotia Province, Mapleleaf and Angus District. Now all I have to do is figure out which one comes first and how I can raise the money for it. It will never end, will it.

Glad it all went well. Good luck with getting the other tartans/kilts.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Great that your first experience was so positive.
It will never end, will it.

Thanks Chas, I have to admit I was a wee bit concerned. The tartan is quite bold and I usually wear much more subdued colors. Was not quite sure how it (I) would be received. But as everything was positive this kilt is going to see a lot more of San Francisco. I shall be saving my clan Stewart kilt for the more special occasions.
