120 seconds?
How long have we had the "you must wait 120 seconds between posts" function?

Re: 120 seconds?
As long as I can remember. Designed to try to keep us from accidentally double posting a response, which it catches me trying to do a couple times a year.

Re: 120 seconds?
Long as I can remember too. It seems that a 10 second time-out would be plenty to catch the double posts. But, maybe that depends on factors like I/O/trans speed.

Re: 120 seconds?
Y'all are posting way too fast on Tyger's other wandering bonnet thread----I am two days and 7 pages behind and I can't catch up. Although I can type fast, since I can't post more often that each 120 seconds I'll try to catch up here----I want a bonnet too--olive with a touch of navy blue, I am the only man in 4 generations of my family to grow a beard ever and I have had one pretty much constantly the last 20 years (we have too much Cherokee in us I guess), quiz= what do you see when you shine a flashlight down mole holes?------molasses, of course, and I do love mine on toast and waffles in lieu of maple syrup or honey. Okay now give me a couple more days to catch up on the other thread.

Alright, Doctor Jeff, you're caught up.
We're taking a break and letting that thread cool off for a little while. In fact, I'm signing off 'til tomorrow.

Re: 120 seconds?
The 120 second time limit is not for you members.
It is sometimes inconvenient, yes,
But its reason is to prevent spammers from 'flooding' the forum with hundreds of junk mail posts before the Moderators can catch them.
You will sometimes also notice a limit on your PM's if you are trying to send a notice to a large group.
Most spammers today are not people. They are computers programmed to search the web for forums, register, spread their electronic junk mail and then go on to the next forum they find as fast as they can. The average robot spammer is on our forum for less than 1 minute.
But wow, the damage they can do in that 1 minute is amazing.
So we do have some limits. I'm sorry if these limits are at times 'limiting' but I hope you can understand the reason for them.
I really don't think our members want to log on and have to wade through the viagra ads, the wow gold ads, and the penis enlargement ads, that plague many forums.

Yeah, we are cooling of the Tyger's New Ryan Ross Bonnet and Other Things Important to Our World thread (here it is)
The creativity just shot wild in the last 48 hours.

Jeff, how do you prepare those "molasses" for the toast and waffles?

Neat, of course.
Actually spent a couple hours this afternoon catching up on the other thread and several others as have kind of been offline for a couple days due to work stuff. Man sometimes this place goes wild overnight.
