I'm planning on getting a Derry kilt myself. Never actually seen one in the flesh before, as kilts aren't all that common in Ireland. Do you have any idea where abouts your family are from? I'm from the Culmore area of Derry City, but I have family all over the county.

The funny part is that there would ever need to be a written "recipe" when the ingredients are in the name.
Jokes are so much funnier when you explain them... it doesn't help when your audience is a few sandwiches short of a picnic (audible groans - sorry but I had to do it)!

I can probably find out and get back to you. All I know is Derry city.

It was a neat discovery, though. I have a good chunk of my family from Co. Cork but nobody has any specific information about them at all. I didn't even know which city they were from. A distant relative of mine wrote a book on our Kane family from Co. Derry and, through the book, I found out tons of information on my grandfather who was a Catholic farmer from Derry city and came to USA in 1860. Pretty neat find for me.

If you don't mind, Id love to send you a PM one of these days to find out more about Derry. I have been pretty proud of that discovery and I'd love to learn more about it.

No problem, I may not know a great deal about the history of Derry, but obviously I know all about it these days. And of course I have grown up with a lot of stories about the troubles in Derry.

By the way, the only city in county Cork is Cork City. As far as I'm aware their are only 10 'cities' in the whole of Ireland. And the only only ones of any size are Dublin, Belfast, Galway, limerick and Derry

Oh my. That's a strange concept to work out for an American where every 20 minutes is another city. lol.

except in Nevada. There seems to be about 3 gas stations the entire length of that state and no houses. Sorry, Nevadans.
