Argh. I've been catching a few episodes on teletoon as well since it was such a strong childhood memory but I missed this episode.

Don't forget the old Scrooge McDuck character (uncle of Huey, Duey, and Luey). He was always defending his kilt wearing by shouting "It's NAE a SKIRT, It's a KILT!"

Anyone remember how he was related to Donald?

Am I the only one that remembers the Rock 'N' Wrestling cartoon?
Of course, Roddy Piper wore a kilt.

I was watching Series 3 of the Simpsons today. In the episode "The Otto Show" in which Spinal Tap has a concert in Springfield, Nigel Tufnel is wearing a kilt!

On the simpson's last night the family takes a trip to England where they meet a good selection of celebs including Tony Blair, Judi Dench, and Sir Ian MacKellan who comes out of a theatre where he is staring in MacBeth. Mackellan is kilted throughout his entire portion of the show.

Continuing on the cartoon kilt theme,

Last night I rented Scooby Doo meets the Loch Ness Monster on DVD for my son. The were plenty of kilts, as well as bagpipes and some highland games. My son laughed his pants off when Scooby and Shaggy wore kilts at the end. He thought it was funny, because "Doggies don't wear kilts!".

It was actually entertaining. The special features has a "How to speak Scottish" feature with descripitions of Scottish items. Kilt was listed as "a pleated skirt usually made of wool and worn by men". Sounds right to me.

    cartoons...

The Simpsons episode I remember starts off with Groundskeeper Willie presiding at "Scotchtoberfest" and playing the pipes -- Bart ties a balloon to his kilt, and of course, it goes flying up, and the crowd lets out a gasp -- Willie says, "What are ye lookin' at, you Puritian Pukes? It's only what God graced me with!" Later, it is discovered that "Scotchtoberfest" is a ruse to trap Bart: "Ya used me, Skinner!"

Check out this site for information about the MacDuck Tartan:

This is too cool! Scrooge McDuck is my favourite Disney character. The other kilt-wearing duck was Flintheart Glomgold, Scrooge's nemisis.

    Cheers !

    Groundskeeper Willie

He to me embodies what I thought of a true Scott,Tough as nails, and not afraid to get dirty to get the job done.Did you see him save Bart from the wolf and then after he beat him he shared "a wee nip"
with him to show no hard feelings.

I'm a hardcore, never going to grow up cartoon nut
opps got to go Simpsons are on

    zombie thread, i know...

We named our son Enzo (and we sometimes admit that we got the name from Reboot, much to the annoyance of his grandmother. )

I was reading a wikipedia page today that mentioned he transformed into Wallace, so I grabbed the disk and looked. I used the way back machine to find the image from the post, though it is small, now I need to find a bigger one and make it my desktop.

(It was either a new thread or a zombie thread, I choose Zombie!)::dead::
