This weekend, 24th of May, is celebrated in Canada for the birthday of Queen Victoria. It is a statutory holiday traditionally observed with family gatherings and fireworks. To the younger folks it is also known as the May 2-4 weekend,(as there are 24 bottles of beer in a case) and marks the beginning of the summer season and is celebrated with camping and copious amounts of intoxicating beverages. I would suggest that if you have any connection or admiration for Her Majesty, (who quite admired her highland regiments), strap on your kilt and raise a glass or two. Cheeeeers!
