Being an Englishman and living as I do so close to the Scottish borders, I've had comments from some folk who simply can't understand why a non-Scot would want to wear a kilt.

I've had a couple of 'What's with the kilt' comments as a result. I also had a 'What's with the skirt' comment at New Year. Before I could answer, this tough looking Scotsman who I was having a conversation with at the bar of our local pub jumped in and gave the guy a verbal dressing down. I bought him a double scotch for his effort and we've been allies ever since.

On the up side, I've been referred to as 'sexy' in my kilt by young attractive females who normally wouldn't give me a second look.

You can't win 'em all. One things for sure. I know of no one yet who has suffered any physical assault as a result of wearing a kilt - unless you know different!!!
