Re: Highland Games inuries
At Dunedin a few years back, a young man lost the 28 for distance in the crowd and hit an elderly woman, who was taken to the hospital.
He left the field shortly after, from what I understand, he was fairly bummed out.
Two hours later, the lady returned from the hospital after checking out "OK". She spoke with the other athletes and told them to relay the message that she was alright, and upset that she didn't get to see him throw anymore.
Have fun and throw far. In that order, too. - o1d_dude

Last year Bethany was doing one of her first spinning WOB's of the season in practice. She stepped back, launched the weight, dropped down to the low point to the catch, and get ready for the big pull up.....
...and that 28 pound weight slammed into her calf - full crank. And you know that Bethany is not exactly a lil' thing. That weight took her leg right out from under her and she had that bruise for a month. When she went down we all chuckled...but then she didn't get up for a few moments and the chuckles went from HAHA to "Oh cr**, are you OK?"

I noticed today that she is shown on the Ardenwood web page. She's wearing a certain black with flame pleat flash kilt. She's fun to watch!

Our Bethany has lost a MESS of weight....like 45+ pounds. She's got about 20 to go to goal weight. The deal is....she gets to goal weight...
she gets a new kilt.
She's picked Isle of Skye. sheesh. Twist my arm, force me to stitch up an Isle of Skye kilt. I might have to buy enough PV to make myself a kilt, too.
