    The back of a blister-packed "something" should also work, and be stiffer than milk/OJ jug. Think about the dimensions you want and I'm sure somebody here can mail you a piece if you don't have any around.

    Actually, I think the 1/8" plywood will work out (I have some in my junk collection), but thank you all for those suggestions.

    I'm going to have to brush up on hand sewing skills before I do anything. I was trying to make a small pocket for a watch to go on the backside of my kilt apron, and I kept making a mess of the stitches; not that I'm very good at sewing in the first place... I keep getting distracted by things and goof up.
    I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

    Guess that's ok.

    I found a piece of 1/8 plywood that can be cut to the right size. I'll round off the top corners a little, and use a radius cutter for the bottom to make it about the curve of the sporrans I have.

    Still not doing so well with sewing, or at least it's really slow going.
