    Yes it is indeed the MacPherson Hunting now that I have something to compare it to, Thank you.

    It has a very rough tweedy feel to it and as I said is a rather loose weave. The dark is, in fact, a very nice dark charcoal grey and I like the softer blue with it. I have no clues to the age other than it originally came from an elderly woman who passed away and her niece, who gave it to us, said that it originally came from Scotland. IT is in very good condition with no holes or defects that I can see, so if it is old it has been well taken care of.

    I have a friend who does the MacPherson tent here in New England. Looking back at some old photos I even have a picture of him in a kilt of the very same tartan, I just didn't recall it. He's had a rough go of it lately and is recovering from surgery so I will send it on to him to boost his spirits.
