new contemorary kiltmaker -KamoKilts
I just found these guys...
http://www.kamokilt.com
It says "The KamoKilt was designed as a collaborative effort between Chris Snyder and Patty Erion ...."
Don't know 'em..maybe someone does?
There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of information on the site, at least picture-wise. However, with each kilt order, you get a free KamoKilt grocery shopping bag!!! Honest!

The "Suitable for military issue" line bothers me. Same as how everyone is labeling everything "Tactical" these days, when it has no connection to the military whatsoever. I don't like these marketing methods.

Agreed... Make it black with lots of webbing and you call it tactical, make it camo and call it military. Marketing uses a lot of poetic license.

I checked the site out and the one thing I did notice was no length or height option was mentioned or available in the order section. I also didn't notice a location or contact number listed other than an email which for me kind of sends up a warning flag. That's not saying that they are not reputable and so on.

Seems sketchy

What I've noticed is there seems to be monthly a new contemporary kilt company popping up and monthly one or two less. The quality of which seems to vary wildly.

What it's lacking are pictures of completed pieces. Apart from the chap on the page's artwork there are no pictures of the kilts AT ALL!
No pictures of the pleats or finished kilts, no length measurements, no info as to how much yardage or how they fasten??
Let's just say that there are plenty of contemporary kilt makers I'd choose before I got to these people.

They have a link to "KLINGONS IN KILTS" - "an independent Star Trek* Fan group organized for the purpose of gathering together Klingons* from all over the planet (universe?) to wear the IMPERIAL or CLASSIC KLINGON makeup and costume with the SPECIFIC ALTERATION of wearing a kilt (kilt) (kilt) in place of pants."
Spectacular.

hmm...at least he is not wearing white hose.... i think a klingon should have a full mask sporran.... nice tartan, it goes with the vest... good demonstration of the flexibility of a kilt.... the scottish diaspora has extended further than i ever imagined (scotty did get around, after all)... if kilting can calm the kilngons, perhaps kilting is the secret to intergalactic peace... surprised the klingon did not take riverkilt's advice and wear leather... this would be an interesting addition to the new traditionalists thread (traditional kilts, modern looks)...
