I think it may be twisted cord cord rather than an epaulet, although perhaps a lower profile and less cord than these.

The red prince charlie pic with leopard sporran is simply EPIC. Truthfully, half of it is the beard.

The beard seems to be seasonal and has gone away for now. I have calculated that it grows about a half inch each month. If I start it around July 4, it will be in full Santa mode by Christmas.
