FWIW, I had no trouble with with J Byous down in Georgia when I ordered my current caubeen, and they do balmorals as well. Still, it sounds like your order from Glengarry Hats will get to you eventually.

I have ordered from them (Glengarry) twice and have been very happy with the quality. Both times, the packages were shipped the day after I ordered them, and both times it took 10 business days for the package to arrive in Fargo, North Dakota. I will order from them again with out any hesitation!

USPS may be a crapshoot whether your parcel is inspected/delayed by Customs, but UPS and FedEx are nearly a sure bet for being delayed/inspected.
The Postal service is generally preferred.
How did your vendor ship your item?

I am told by Paypal that it was shipped via Canada Post.

I frequently purchase items from the UK on eBay and have had no problems receiving merchandise in a timely fashion.

Well, best option for minimal Customs delay. Hope for the best!
Was there parcel tracking on it?

Chris rivals Rocky for all those things that make a good businessman. A competition between the two of them would be a wonder to behold.
Enjoy your balmoral and hose.
May I ask why you didn't decide to order your new Balmoral from Chris at Dunadd when you placed your hose order? All of my Balmorals and Glengarrys come from Dunadd, by way of Robert Mackie, naturally. I have had no problems with Chris at Dunadd and the delivery has always been very fast! (consistently in about a week or so - give or take, respectively)
Best of luck with everything and enjoy your new items!
Cheers,

MT4runner - there was no parcel tracking on it.
creagdhubh - the main reason was price. It would cost twice as much at Dunadd, unfortunately, and I was hoping to have it for St. Paddy's day. I originally had planned to wear my lovat blue argyle jacket and not what I ended up wearing.

Your parcel is coming from Canada?
We have an item for repair coming from Canada, posted almost two weeks ago and the owner is going ballistic - we were getting enquiries about delivery some four days after posting.
Perhaps there is some problem at the border delaying the post leaving the country.
We are not looking forward to posting it back.
