We had a lovely time last night at the Meet'n'Greet and the supper at Swan's. Photos will be posted......I have to wait for Steve/The Wizard since I don't know how to do this. There are even action shots -- dancing was on the menu at Swan's!

Our Kilt Night in honor of CDNSushi's visit to Victoria was a big success.

We began by holding a meet & greet at the kilt shop.

Here is CDNSushi showing everyone his new ipad.
On the left are Macman and his lady. In the center are Spyder and his lady.

Another shot of us standing around enjoying the gift CDN Sushi brought.
If you have not tried Japanese single malt I have to tell you that you will be in for a pleasant surprise.

To the far left is Kiltedwolfman speaking to his daughter and CDNSushi's lady.
    followed by kiltedknome.
Then Macman and Spyder with their ladies.

The meet & greet was followed by short but very windy and cool walk down to Swan's brewpub for dinner.

It seems strange but it is apparently impossible to get fish and chips in Japan. So CDNSushi is making up for it.
Plus samples from one of our local micro-breweries.

The band at Swan's was kicking it with some pretty good swing music so our members who are younger and more agile than myself gave the other patrons a taste of "Real Swing".

The Maple Leaf Tartan swings pretty well too.

This morning Kilted Knome dropped CDNSushi off at the airport for the next leg of his trip.

Hopefully some others will post a few more shots.

    Kilt Night

We had a great time. Good to meet CDN Sushi and his wife, and catch up with friends. Let's try this more often....even if we have to schedule without distinguished international participants.

I agree -- it was great fun. The day after Swan's we went with CDNSushi and Bonnie to The Fernwood Inn, and enjoyed another good meal and this time, music from The Sweet Lowdown -- blues and folk music.

By the way, just so everyone knows.....CDNSushi left some really wonderful whiskey here with us in Victoria. Much to KiltedWolfman's dismay, I removed it from the kilt shop and brought it home.......

Looks like all had a great night. Always pleasant to catch up with like minded people.

I find it amazing you can't get fried battered fish and a good serve of chips in Japan, perhaps Jim can start a trend over there and start a national chain of fish and chip shops

Hmmm yes, I agree. Wise move, Bobbie. Especially because that means I just may get a sampler in May . Sushi tried to open the bottle during dinner in Langley a few nights earlier but the restaurant's heavy hand and commanding tone was

    NO

He could call them Canadian Sushi Shops, or something.

Try saying that again and again and again.
