    D-Day Veteran Tribute

Here a picture of the Prince of Wales attending the D-Day Veteran tribute in Normandy.

Here is a quote regarding Charles' choice in tartans.

But one of the feisty veterans was less than impressed when he noticed the royal visitor was not wearing the right kilt. Ex-Black Watch platoon sergeant Charles Swanson demanded to know why the future king was not sporting the regiment's traditional tartan. When Charles, who was wearing a green Hunting Stewart kilt, assured him that he had worn a Black Watch tie the day before, the 83-year-old said: "Well, where is it today? You’re not wearing it today!".

You would think that with Charles being the Colonel-in-Chief of the Black Watch Regiment and Deputy Colonel-in-Chief of the Highlanders that he would be wearing the Black Watch tartan for the day.

Charles is not noted for his decision making skills.

At least he was wearing the kilt and not Trousers.

However he should have worn "Black watch."

    As for his decision making.

I'm guessing that he probably just wears what his staff lays out for him.

He should have had Elijah organising his weekly kilt program

Instead Charles has shown Bear's independent spirit in doing his own thing in choice of a kilt.

    Only kidding guys!

I like the tartan, and I agree, at least he's in a kilt!

To move even a little further form the original topic, I think that William is the one that we should be working on for wearing the kilt, as he will be the next king.

Even when Chuck does something out of whack, I still can't agree with him.
This was a military occasion and if protocol says he should have worn the Black Watch, then he should have worn the Black Watch.
What would have happened to an Honour Guard that showed up in a Hunting Stewart kilt?

There's a time and a place to be independant. I think Chuck asks his mum when he can be independant.

This Morning on the D-Day live events from Normandy,
I saw several kilts on some of the Decorated
soldiers. It really touched me to see these, men now in their 80's and 90's, marching in formation.
They were receiving the highest French award for
    service to France.
