Which reminds me of a band I was really into:
How about "Southern Death Kilts"?
Be assured, a joke, but does anybody get the reference?

Wow. Getting some good feedback here. For those of you not familiar with my work, I am a traditional kiltmaker that tries to find the least expensive way to put a traditionally tailored kilt together. I have recently started looking into a trad-cut casual kilt, and other styles. All of which I try to conform to the traditional style. I can easily place this description into my opening statement on the site, just trying for a good catchy name that doesn't have the word "cheap" in it. My mistake that one.
Funny story. Originally I was to name it "Mulekilts" as mule was my nickname back home. But with Bear around, I figured one animal referenced kilt was enough.
Liberty kilts is among my faves that you all have mentioned, tho it does elude to being Philly based. It does have a strong American feel to it tho.

Yes gibby, I get the reference. Kinda like it. Southern Death Cult eventually became one of my favorite bands... The Cult. Bit of useless music trivia there

If I was ordering a kilt from Mulekilts, I guess I wouldn't expect to get it in a hurry

I thought, "Stonhenge kilts" would be an idea using part of your address.
I'm of the opinion that "cheapkilts" degrades the work you put into yor kilts

Chris,
Whatever you decide, I feel that you will have the support of everyone on the forum and beyond. It is not a task that I would relish, marketing is such a strange beast.

I agree with Glen, not an easy thing, and I for one am pleased and flattered that you should share this matter with us, it's a good indication of the "family" we've become on this forum - helping and supporting one another (sob, sob)
The final choice is yours of course, but as I said before, I think it's a good decision.
Glad to see you're still working away at providing kilts.

just my 2 bits worth .....
being from "tha otha side of tha mountain" ;) , i kinda of like the name ... AppalKilts, as in Appalachian Mountains. of course this a regional thing as well.
but, i think the simpler the better, and ' southernkilts.com ' has a real nice and friendly ring to it.
best to you,
ambrose

Chris,
What image do you want me to have when I come accross your name in a browser list?
It has to give me, the customer, the urge to expore your site.
I would suggest that what ever you choose should be simple.
