Hey Hawk.
I got a really good deal on a whole black bison hide so I have been using it for all sorts of stuff. I was going to use tooling leather at first but decided on this instead.

Bison?!?! Nice! I wish I could afford a bison hide. I got a beautiful elk hide last year about this time for $80. Wish I had bought 2 of them- I doubt I'll ever see that again.

Really nice work all the way around Harold! I have a targe fascination. I've made a few. How did you attach the spike and where did you get the brass domes? Just curious. Thanks for sharing.

The spike was a former landscape nail that I took to a machine shop and had them thread into a steel plate. I cut the leather out of the center of the targe and the used epoxy to attach it to the center.
The brass pieces are former dishes from candle holders.
