Connie and I will be in attendance at both events. We look forward to seeing our old friends, and meeting our new ones!

Brooke

Wife, the Boy, and I are eagerly anticipating the Sunday afternoon gathering and meeting some "new" old friends in SF this weekend, and wish to thank you all in advance for your kind hospitality and for sharing your precious weekend time with us. We appreciate that for many it will be a trek to get into the city center to accommodate us for this gathering.

Just don't ask me for directions, or what time it starts, or what day of the week it is. sheesh. I owe you and Connie a beer, each at Ardenwood.

Don't worry Alan, I will try to not act too gentlemanly in your presence. But I am glad to hear about all, including you, who will be able to make it. I shall try to restrain my joy.

I'm planning on wearing my Lindsay, modern kilt, with my Lindsay, modern flannel long sleeved shirt, and of course my Lindsay, modern flat cap.
And white sox, but of course!

Don't forget your bias cut tartan Llindsay modern vest, Alan, as from what I gather the weather is going to be "mild" in SF this weekend.
Not sure what kilt to bring-----if anybody has any particular ones you know of in my collection that you want to get a first hand look at let me know and I will try to bring and wear one on request (three handsewn rare Douglas's---red, brown, and black; MacDonald of Glencoe muted, ---see my member profile for a pretty updated list or my photo albums). Either way I will probably be in a casual shirt and either sweater vest or full sweater rather than all tweeded up, unless that is the consensus opinion of dress for the outing (I am bringing the tweed for our semi-formal dinner as part of the meeting schedule anyway---what is another wearing of it to Sunday afternoon kilt gathering as long as we don't spill beer on it or anything).
Again, really looking forward too Sunday afternoon. Already feeling the hospitality.

Actually, I am soliciting advice via e-mail on what to show up in.
I'm tempted to drive up there in a camo kilt, combat boots, and tank top. Then again, I could shock you all and wear my new braemar jacket, hand-knit hose, regimental tie and so on. I'm just concerned that I might shock Panache and MacMillans son into stunned silence if I should appear looking natty.
It's going to be very hard to NOT show up in flat cap and white socks, BTW.
