I listen to everything. Except rap (with the exception of Will Smith, the Beastie Boys, and Anthrax (who's da man)).

Classic rock, metal, classical, Motown, big band, martial music, some country, some punk, some new wave, and my wife and son (who are both far more cool than I) keep my ipod loaded with the current hot bands.

When I'm on a project though, I tend to go to what relaxes me. Celtic Woman/Thunder, Earth Wind and Fire, G. Lightfoot, Neil Diamond, Amy MacDonald (Scottish girl who I can't get enough of), that kind of stuff. An old favorite that I can't find on CD is Roger Whittaker.

When driving, if my ipod dies, I generally just put the radio on scan. Continuous 6 second bits of whatever is on generally amuses me.

Today I was at the opening of the new location of an old kung fu school in Hong Kong. The master there is a friend of one of my kung fu teachers. I was playing cymbals in the percussion ensemble that accompanied a lion dance, which was doing a sort of blessing ritual for the place. This is one type of martial music, while a regimental pipe band would be another.

Anything that you might hear out on the drill field while marching or during a parade. Regimental pipes, J.P. Sousa, drum and bugle corps, that sort of thing. Always runs a bit of a shiver up my back and gets the blood moving. I love it.

Oh, man. I've been listening to everything from Chieftains to Slayer. All at home while I'm doing homework and writing papers.

Let's see what has been on my playlist...I'll leave out the death metal bands

Deep Purple, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Helloween, Van Halen, Blind Guardian, Exodus, Judas Priest, Manowar, Entombed, Brian Setzer/ Stray Cats, Iron Maiden, Kreator, etc
    Gillmore of Clan Morrison

I haven't read all of the posts on this thread Mickey so this may have been pointed out already, but Amazon has a significant selection of Roger Whittaker and Itunes has a few as well.
He really does have a great voice.
    Best of luck!
