Oh, man. I've been listening to everything from Chieftains to Slayer. All at home while I'm doing homework and writing papers.

Let's see what has been on my playlist...I'll leave out the death metal bands

Deep Purple, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Helloween, Van Halen, Blind Guardian, Exodus, Judas Priest, Manowar, Entombed, Brian Setzer/ Stray Cats, Iron Maiden, Kreator, etc
    Gillmore of Clan Morrison

It has been a Chopin morning. A few of my favorites:

Fantasie-Impromptu for piano in C sharp minor
Prelude for piano #4 in E minor "Suffocation"
Prelude for piano #15 in D flat major "Raindrop"

I'm at work listening to some interesting choral music on CBC Radio 2. I had Mark Knopfler's "Get Lucky" CD on in the car on the way in.
Bug, you've got me pining for Chopin when I get home tonight.

Great to see the diversity here, thanks and keep responding. Today, Sunday, is the NPR radio lineup. Prairie Home Companion, Bob Edwards Weekend, To The Best of Our Knowledge, Car Talk, This American Life, All Things Considered, Celtic Connections and Classical Guitar. Seeing as Im pager bound, on call, I cant do much but read, weave and hang around the house so this all makes for good listening.

On the Celtic front, I'm bouncing back and forth between Alasdair Fraser and Enter The Haggis. Keeping it real in Texas, I'm playing a good deal of Los Lonely Boys lately. But I'm always celebrating my home state of Louisiana by listening to Cajun and Zydeco by playing Beausoleil and BooZoo Chavis!

Not Celtic (although I am partial to Silly Wizard), but in the last month or so I have gotten hooked on stuff by Eva Cassidy, a great singer who did mostly covers of other folks stuff, great covers, as well as a little of her own stuff, and some collaborations. Unfortunately she died of melanoma in 1996, right before her first solo album was published. She started getting lots of play posthumously and now has 11 albums out there, all stuff she recorded but was ignored by the music industry during her life, including great covers of "Over the Rainbow" and Sting's "Fields of Gold". Check out albums Songbird and Live at Blues Alley for great starters. You can hear some of her stuff on Wikipedia too. I have her Pandora channel bookmarked for regular play.

Always fun to pick out the references to Tolkien's writing, among others, in Zeppelin songs.

Think I should get back over to the kilt part of the forum, though.
